After 12th, I had a gap of 3 months before college. I had no money and I didn't want to ask my parents for everything. So I thought I'll give tuition. One lady near our house in Chotta Chotta Shimla said her son is in 8th class, he needs maths tuition. She agreed for 3000 per month, daily 1 hour. First day I went, full preparation. I took my old RD Sharma, some pens. The kid was sitting, playing Free Fire on his mother's phone. He didn't even look up. I said "chalo shuru karte hai." He said "sir mujhe maths nahi aata." I thought he is saying he is weak. Later I understood he meant he doesn't want to do it at all. For 3 days, he came late. On 4th day, his mother said "aaj rehne do, usko cold ho raha hai." On 5th day, again "aaj uske cousin aaye hai." I used to go there at 4 pm, knock, wait, and come back. Shimla me upar neeche chad ke jana padta tha uske ghar tak. I would get tired for nothing. On the 7th day, I went and the door was locked. I called the aunty. Shesaid "beta hum Solan gaye hai 2 din ke liye, batana bhool gayi." I sat on the stairs outside her house for 10 minutes. Because I didn't want to feel like I walked for nothing. Then I walked back down. I didn't go again. She called after 3 days and said "kab se aaoge?" I said "aunty exams aa rahe hai, nahi ho payega." She said okay. She never paid for those 5 days I went. I also didn't ask. 1000 rupees ka loss. But after that I never did home tuition again.

This was painfully relatable 😭 Sometimes the first job teaches you more about what you don’t want to do than what you actually want to do. And that β‚Ή1000 still hurts! πŸ˜πŸ˜‚
