Cinema hall

According to me cinema hall is a magical place. A place where I enter with certain expectations. I keep my mind blank as the Canvas. I absorb everything from the film that I watch. I leave the cinema hall with a feeling, thought, or mixed emotions.

In 2012 I entered the cinema hall to watch the film Life of Pi. The expectation from the film that I had was that I would get to view the visuals of tiger. I love all types of wild cats and hands I was very excited to see the film. I loved that film. When I left the cinema hall I was thinking not only about the tiger but overall the struggles for survival. I gave a thought that what if I get stranded with a tiger what would I do. I came up with many alternatives.

In 2018 I walked into the theatre to watch Andhadhun. When I had purchased the ticket for the film I had not seen the reviews or even the trailer. I decided to completely go on a blind film date with myself. I went into the movie theatre with no expectations and no idea what I was about to witness. The film completely took me by surprise. Each and every moment of the film was exciting and entertaining. When I left the movie theatre I felt like I was going to play the role of a detective. With each scene and each dialogue I was trying to connect the dots. Each time I was coming up with new alternatives and new possibilities. Needless to say I enjoyed the mental gymnastics I had to do.

In 2019 I entered the movie theatres to watch Avengers endgame. Here I had expectations that the film will have a big play off at the end. It will seal all the loop holes of the story. I had imagine that it was going to be an exciting as well as a sad movie. When I left the movie theatres surprisingly I was not delighted, excited, or sad. I just felt empty. I felt that with the film there was going to create a void in my life. It felt like the way the film ended it took something out of my own life. As the movie ended felt like I had lost something valuable and I would not find it back.

When I entered the theatres to watch Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar revenge I had expected the films to be an action packed and fast paced. I enjoyed both movies. When I left the theatre I felt a strong sense of patriotism. I realised that the work that we are doing professionally is far inferior as compared with what the military are doing. I felt that I should do more for my country. After leaving the movie theatre I was not only excited but motivated to make changes and to make my country a better nation.

Last evening I watched Hanuman Ansh. Again this time I did not know anything about the film. I entered the movie theatre with an open mind. I was thrilled to watch that movie. Every second of the film felt as if it was bringing me closer to my gods. I felt like I was moving towards positivity and spirituality with each passing moment. It felt like a spiritual journey. When I left the movie theatre I felt really positive and pleasant. I felt like visiting a temple right at that moment. I am still feeling the impact of the film even today.

Hence I do believe that films have an immense power over us and they can definitely change our mood. Cinema halls are definitely the magical places which mould our mind to certain extent.
