Even If Everyone Left

There is something beautiful in the strength of a woman who knows that she will be okay, even when someone leaves, plans change, or if their plans don't work out.

I have slowly learned that independence does not mean that one is always self-sufficient. It is a matter of knowing that one's sense of self will not vanish just because someone walks away. I have tasted independence; it is in choosing myself over the wants of others in my most desperate hours, or in simply enduring my doubt until I have my answer.

Independence is not a grand gesture, but a series of small decisions that show you what you truly want by choosing yourself. Because if everyone left, I would still have myself. And I think that is a kind of freedom worth knowing.
