Feedbacks

I started working for a tutoring agency.

We are supposed to tutir university students as and when they need it, review paper they write according to the feedback areas, and answer questions they submit without directly answering them (as in providing an example and explaining the concept rather than handing out direct answers)

On top of all this, We have to work early hours shifts in the morning because these kids are of American universities. We wale up at 4 and work for 5 hours with one hour of break.

Yesterday,

I was very very sleepy. I hadn’t slept the whole night and had to wake up at 4 for work.

Naturally, I wasn’t exactly efficient.

I got a tutoring session.

It was a girl.

She told me she need help with her paper and sent me the rubrik for it.

I assumed that she needed the paper checked like most students do. So, I asked her to paste the essay onto the whiteboard that we yse to mark out things.

She then told me she needed help writing the essay.

I was stuck for a minute but then asked her if she had begun writing and got stuck and that what she needed help with.

She told me that was not the case.

I was shovked a little again. But still I asked her if she had thought out a outline to write the essay.

She said she had not.

She then send me the instructions that were given to her.

I tried to explain to her in the simplest way possible about what the topic was, how to approach it and how to begin.

I had assumed this to be ag its worst, a brainstorm session.

Yet, She kept asking me to explain it better.

I used examples, explained concepts, even outlined a similar example.

She still did not interact properly as to what she needed, instead she kept saying vague things like “I don’t get it” abd when I asked what part she had trouble understanding, she kept saying “i don’t know”

Then I asked her what she dis understand and decided to begin there, to this she replied “I actually wanted someone to write the essay for me so that in plagiarism check its not AI. Otherwise id have gemini write for me.”

At this I was a little frightened but I kept ny calm and explained why that is not ethical.

After this she started using curses and left the session.

My Boss, after hearing this, got mad at ME.

I asked if I had something wrong by not writing the essay for her, to which he said no. We are not supposed to give direct answers.

Then I asked why are you mad then.

He said it was because I made a client angry.

I do not understand how and why that was my fault? what other road was there along this?
