Glow in my Heart

Today, I met a friend who I used to spend every day with growing up. Every time I meet her life gets a bit easier.

We used to play together as kids every day after school. We had a tree in the park that we used to climb and sit on for hours and pretended it was our own house.

Then I moved away. But our friendship has only gotten stronger. Although we don't talk or message daily, we take time out from our schedules to meet every 3-4 months. Which is still a very long time!

After every meetup I always feel so incredibly grateful that I have such a wonderful friend in my life. We always end up doing new things each time.

The last time we met, we went thrifting. Through crowded streets and people yelling, her hand in mine was all I knew as we walked and looked at clothes and pondered if it was worth buying.

Today, we went to a Rage room. It was much needed, is all I can say. We tried different foods and walked more than we ever did.

Our friendship grows with us. Our conversations only get better each time. Although we are not those happy carefree kids who used to climb trees (we tried climbing our tree recently but we outgrew it. We got stuck), I feel transported back to that time when our biggest worry were crushes and grades.

I'm incredibly grateful for my friends. Even more for the ones who have been with me since I was a child. It leaves a glow in my heart every time I spend a day with them.
