Growing at my own pace

Anonymous1 hour agoWrite Freely400 words

Today, I noticed a small green plant growing beside a wall near my college. It was surrounded by dust concrete, and people rushing past, yet somehow it had found enough space to survive. I stopped for a moment and looked at it.bits quiet persistence felt strangely personal to me.

I have been thinking lately about how much pressure I put on myself to grow quickly. I want better skills, better opportunities, better results, and a clearer future. Seeing that little plant reminded me that growth does not always look impressive. Sometimes it is simply continuing even when nobody notices.

People online often talk about feeling behind when they compare their progress with others. Some people describe watching others achieve things while wondering why their own lives seem slower. Reading those experiences made me realize that growth has no universal timetable. Different circumstances create different paths, and comparison hides that.

The plant did not look perfect. Some leaves were damaged, and it's stem leaned towards the light. Yet it was growing I found something comforting in that. Maybe I have been expecting myself to become strong without looking tired , confused, or uncertain. Real growth probably looks much messier than that.

I thought about the difficult days I consider wasted.vperhaps those days were not completely useless. Even when I felt confused. I was learning what I did not want. Even when something failed. I gained experience. Progress is not always visible from one day to another. Sometimes it appears only later.

I also realized that surviving a difficult period deserves recognition. We often celebrate results but ignore the effort required simply to keep going Nobody gives certificates for patience, recovery, or quietly starting again. Yet those experiences shape us.They teach us strength that cannot always be measured through grades or achievements.

Before leaving I took a photograph of the plant, it seemed almost ridiculous to photograph something so ordinary, butvi wanted a reminder. Whenever I feel behind, I want to remember that growth can happen quietly. I do not need to look impressive every day to know that something is changing.

Tonight I feel less impatient with myself. I want to improve and I have goals , but I don't not want to treat my present self likeva failed version of my future. Maybe I am already growing in ways I cannot see. Perhaps patience is also part of becoming.
