Helping someone younger

Today, a younger student asked me for help with something I once struggled to understand. I explained it slowly, rembering how confusing it had felt when I was learning. When they finally understood their smile made me unexpectedly proud. I realized knowledge feels different when it helps another person move forward.

It also made me remember the people who helped me without expecting anything in return. Their guidance seemed small to them, but it mattered to me. Maybe we never know which simple explanation, encouraging sentence, or patient moment becomes important in someone else's journey. I want to become that person for others.
