I am late

I woke up in the morning. I checked the time. It was 7:30. I conclude it that my alarm did not go off on time. I should have woken up at 6 o'clock and I am already late. Too late.
I quickly get ready. Still somehow it is 8 o'clock. I need to reach my college by 9 o'clock. Because the exams are going to begin at that time. I do not have enough time and I have to rush.
I quickly pick up my bag and start running towards the train station. I arrive at the station at 8:10. I still have 50 minutes in my hands. There is still a possibility that I would reach on time. I am at the platform waiting for the train to arrive. Unfortunately I hear the announcement, "the train arriving at 8:11 has been delayed. We regret for the inconvenience".
That is a terrible news. There is no other way to reach the college. The trains are delayed so the possibility of reaching the examination hall on time looks bleak to me. I am really frightened that I would not make it on time. What am I supposed to do now?
I took a deep breath and start thinking. If the trains are delayed nobody would be able to reach on time. The college administration would need to take this fact into the consideration. They would need to allow the students who are reaching late. Because we are not late due to our negligence but rather the disruption of the train services. I am still antsy. But there is nothing I can do.
It is 8:25. I see a train arriving at the distance. I move towards the platform so that I can board the train quickly. The train is over crowded. But I still made my way and was able to board the train. It is 8:30 and I still have 30 minutes in my hands.
The train is moving slowly. Too slow. Even a snail would be faster than this train. It is 8:40. I am running late and the train is not moving.
Finally it is 9:15 when I reached the station. My college is still 10 minutes away from here. The roads are crowded. So, I decide to walk to the college because it will be faster. I am literally sprinting now. I am running out of breath but I did not slow down.
It is 9:30 when I stepped inside the college. I made my way to the examination hall. I am late by half an hour but I have a valid explanation. The invigilator stopped me. I told them about the delay of train. But they did not listen to me and told me that I cannot take the examination. I pleaded but they did not listen. I am not able to take the examination and the efforts of entire year's study are wasted. I am crying outside the examination hall. It is the worst day of my life.
Suddenly I woke up from my sleep. It is 7:30 in the morning. But I realised it was a nightmare and I do not have to go for any examination. I have completed my studies way back and I am a working professional. That gave me a relief that I need it in the morning.
I am still shocked with my brain playing tricks with me.
Waking up from a nightmare where you missed an important exam, you
Your vote is final.
Same happens with me. I completed my studies 15 years ago and I still get this kind of nightmare. Every time it makes me anxious at first and then I laugh it off. Unbelievable how some experiences are so common.
The way the brain starts creating excuses the moment we realize we're late is honestly hilarious 😂 One minute you're panicking, and the next you're preparing a whole explanation as if you're presenting a case in court. 😭
This is a relatable piece about exam anxiety and how realistic nightmares can leave us shaken even after waking up. 😭 Would you like me to polish this into a Spotlight/Anonimo-style story, correct the grammar while keeping your original writing style, or suggest a title and a closing quote for it?
