If you could forgive one thing — including yourself — what would it be?

If I could forgive one thing, I would forgive myself.

Not others. Myself.

I would forgive myself for being too hard on myself all these years. For thinking I am not enough. For comparing my chapter, one with someone else’s chapter. For scroling Instagram at midnight and feeling like everyone is ahead, except me. For thinking, I am late, slow, failing.

I want to forgive myself for how badly I talked to myself. If a friend failed, I would say it’s okay, you will do better. But when I failed, I called myself dumb, useless, Worthless. I would never say that to my best friend, but I said it to myself. I was my own bully.

I want to forgive myself for trying to be perfect. For wanting perfect marks, perfect skin, perfect friendship, perfect life. For crying when things were not perfect. I forgot life is not supposed to be real. And real means Messy, slow, Confusing sometimes. I was chasing perfection and losing peace.

I want to forgive myself For saying yes when I wanted to say no. For going places, I didn’t want to go. For helping people, even when I was tired. For giving time to people who never gave it back. I thought saying no would make me bad. Now I understand boundaries are not selfish. Boundaries are self-love.

I want to forgive myself for holding grudges against myself. For past mistakes, wrong decisions, trusting wrong people, wasting time, not studying earlier, not loving myself earlier. I carried guilt like a heavy bag. It is time to put it down.

I want to forgive myself for doubting my dreams. For thinking, i cannot do big things. For thinking, I am too average to achieve something big. I stop myself before world could stop me. That doubt was my biggest enemy, not failure.

If I could forgive one thing, I would forgive myself for not realising earlier that I am growing. Slow growth is still growth. One person daily is still progress. I was busy looking at others that I forgot how far I came

So today I forgive myself. For everything I did when I did not know better

From today, I will talk to myself with kindness. I will be patient with my journey. I will trust my timing and my own path.

Because I deserve forgiveness. And I deserve my own love, first.
