Learning to say no

Anonymous1 hour agoWrite Freely103 words

Today, someone asked me to take up another responsibility, and my first instinct was to say yes, I was already tired, but I worried they might think I was selfish if I refused. I have noticed how difficult saying no can feel, especially when we genuinely care about other people.

Later, I realized that protecting my time does not make me a bad person. Many people online describe feeling guilty after setting boundaries, even when they know they need them . I am slowly learning that kindness should include myself too. Sometimes, saying no is simply admitting that I cannot give more today.
