Making a mistake in front of everyone

Today, I made a simple mistake while speaking in front of others.My face became hot, and for a few seconds I wanted to disappear. I kept imagining everyone remembering it forever. But after the moment passed, people simply continued with their day. The embarrassment lasted longer inside me than outside.

That realization was strangely comforting. I often believe my mistakes are much bigger than they actually are Most people are busy thinking about themselves, not replaying my awkward moments. Tonight, I laughed about what happened instead of feeling ashamed. Maybe embarrassment becomes smaller when we stop treating it like a permanent identity.
