mending relationships

mending relationships

I read somewhere today

“the more you mend your relationships and forgive people, the more you’re going to unlove them, until you reach a certain point where you no longer want and need them”

but I don’t relate to this at all! I find it sensible but I don’t feel the same, and by relationships I don’t mean only romantic relationships, be it any.

I feel, the more I take the initiative to mend my relations, the more I forgive my loved ones, those who are very close to my heart, the more secure I feel in that relationship.

For me honestly, forgiving someone and mending all the ups and downs happened, feels like giving that relationship a new fresh start, and every single time that fresh start comes, we both have known some of each other’s flaws, have already seen the highs and lows, and the best part?

after all of that chaos, we still choose each other again, rather than giving up on each other.

and I feel that, everytime we mend our relationships, this feeling intensifies and we know each other much more than before.

it does come with certain conditions, and obviously the situation matters, because sometimes, although we want to hold on to that person, the situation becomes so toxic, that we eventually had to let go of it.

But I feel, our gut feeling is never wrong. Even for me personally, every single person that I’m close with today, I had a gut feeling about them years back, that

“yeah! they are never leaving my side no matter what”

and same goes for the relationships that I no longer seek for.

It was obviously very hard for me to let them go, but today when I think about them, I don’t regret, instead I feel proud that I made the right decision, although it was really hard to take!
