my comeback

Last year, I experienced a failure that, at the time, felt much bigger than it actually was.

I had prepared for an opportunity for several weeks. I followed a schedule, worked late on some days, and imagined how happy I would be if things worked out. When the result finally came, my name was not on the list. For the first few days, I did not want to talk about it. I avoided people and kept thinking about what I had done wrong. What made it worse was seeing others succeed. I was genuinely happy for them, but somewhere inside, I kept comparing their progress with mine.

One evening, my father noticed that I was unusually quiet. He did not give me a long lecture or tell me that everything would be fine. He simply asked, “Are you going to let one result decide what you are capable of?”I did not have an answer. The next morning, I opened my notebook again. This time, instead of starting with another long study session, I wrote down everything that had gone wrong. I realised that I had not failed because I was incapable. I had made mistakes in my preparation. I had ignored some important areas, managed my time poorly, and depended too much on what I already knew. That realisation changed my approach.I started preparing differently. I focused more on my weaknesses, practised regularly, and stopped measuring my progress against other people. Slowly, I became more confident—not because I knew that I would definitely succeed, but because I knew that I was learning from my mistakes.Looking back, I am almost grateful for that failure. It taught me that failure is not always a sign that we should stop. Sometimes, it is simply information telling us what needs to change. We often celebrate success because it is visible, but failure can teach us lessons that success never does.

you have recently failed at something important, do not let one result become your identity. Take some time, understand what went wrong, make the necessary changes, and begin again.A setback can delay your journey, but it does not have to decide where you finally reach.
