This feels like one of those situations where being the person in the middle can become exhausting because you genuinely understand both sides, but somehow neither side feels completely understood by the other. I think what makes family conflicts especially difficult is that you can't simply walk away from them or treat them like an ordinary disagreement. You care about everyone involved, which is exactly why watching the same cycle repeat can feel so frustrating. The part about explaining things to both of them and trying to make them see each other's perspective really stood out to me. Sometimes you can communicate everything perfectly and still can't make two people understand each other if they're not ready to hear the other side. And being caught between parents like that can quietly take a lot out of you, even when you're only trying to help.
