Philosophy of Morals

I enrolled in a class called Ethics of Design for my college. I entered it expecting to be theory class where we learn about the history and evolution of different types of Ethics and how to be a 'good designer'
Its all that and more. We're debating and discussing and researching and it's building my knowledge and skills at such a fast pace.
Now I'm not a very outspoken person. I was the type to keep my opinions to myself and leave questions unanswered. Being in college and studying is making me realise that I cant continue being like that. I need to voice my opinions even if I'm scared of it.
We had a debate today and I tried my best to answer in a way that was not repetitive or just rambling. I learnt how to quickly organise my thoughts in my head before speaking aloud. I learnt how to pick points from other people's speeches and break them down to further the debate.
And I've never felt so proud of myself.
We discussed numerous things in this class ranging from the invention of light bulbs to safety. A discussing that got me thinking- what is safety for all of us?
We were given scenarios with different stakeholders and were expected to put ourselves in their shoes and come up with valid points and arguments. I never thought that I would be an elderly patient waiting I'm a hospital queue, but there I was debating why we still needed in-person registrations instead of digitizing it.
Its more than our Ethics. It's being informed and in turn informing others. It opened my eyes to a lot of real world situations that I never would have thought about otherwise.
And the best part is that we don't have any class work because the class is the work.
