The appointment card
I found an appointment card tucked behind my wallet, itscink fading at the edges, I had written the time in a hurry and nearly missed it. For a moment, I blamed myself for being careless, then checked the clock and realized I still had enough time to leave calmly.
I reached the clinic early and sat beside a window where sunlight fell across the floor waiting was easier when I was not racing against it I wrote the next appointment into my phone before leaving. The small act felt like taking care of the person I would be next.

There is something oddly poetic about discovering a faded appointment card tucked behind your wallet like a secret message from your past self. Seeing that hurried handwriting brings an instant wave of realization, followed by that wonderful, grounding sigh of relief when you check the clock and see you aren't actually late. It’s moments like these that pull us out of our autopilot mode and gift us an unexpected pocket of quiet time—like sitting by a sunny window, watching the world go by before the appointment begins.
Taking care of your future self is a quiet form of self-love. 💛
