The call I made instead of texting

I had been exchanging short messages with a relative all week, each reply arriving hours later and sounding flatter than intended. Tonight, I called instead.
Basically I am not a call person and I usually prefer to text. But this time, I felt like a instict to just make a call and have a proper conversation about the matter We are discussing.
We stumbled through the first few seconds, then began talking about dinner 🍽️, weather, and a small problem at home as if no time had passed. Cause this was the first time we contacted through call for the first time and we usually speak when we meet, the first minutes were a bit awkward not gonna lie but then after that, the flow and the rhythm matched and we did ended up talking way more than we intended.
When we hung up the issue we had been discussing was still unresolved but I felt closer to the person. Texting had kept us informed the call made us present , I do not need to replace every message with a conversation. Yet sometimes hearing someone's voice gives ordinary words the thing that I needed without even me realising it.
You were not a call person but you still stepped out of your comfort zone to speak with the relative to understand the issue. That my friend was a btave act. In difficult times it does not matter whether the issue gets resolved. What matters is who reached out and offered a helping hand or a shoulder to cry. Your relative will definitely remember this simple act of kindness
Sometimes, a simple phone call can do what hours of texting cannot. ❤️ The beginning might feel awkward, but once the conversation flows, you realise how much you’ve missed that genuine connection. Sometimes, it’s not about solving the problem immediately; it’s about feeling closer to the person while figuring things out. ✨
This is so real. Texts keep us updated but a call actually makes us feel close again.
