The comfort of being alone
Today, I deliberately spent an evening alone without calling anyone or checking messages constantly. At first the silence felt strange because I am so used to having something playing in the background. Slowly though, I became comfortable with my own thoughts. For once , I did not feel lonely I felt peaceful.
People online often describe needing time away from constant messages and social expectations, especially when life becomes overwhelming. That made my evening feel less unusual. I realized being alone does not always mean being disconnected. Sometimes, it is simply giving myself enough quiet to hear what I actually feel. Tonight silence felt like company.
