The day I realized I memorized voices

Today, I heard someone's. Voice after a long time and recognized it immediately before remembering their face. That surprised me.vi had not realized voices could stay somewhere deeply in memory. The sound brought back conversations, places and feelings I had not consciously through about for months.

People online often describe recognizing old voices in unexpected recordings or calls and feeling transported somewhere else. I understood they today. A voice carries more than words, it carries familiarity. It made me wonder how many people I could recognize from sound alone. Memory is stranger and more detailed than I usually realize.
