THE DAY I STOPPED WAITING FOR A PERFECT TIME
For a long time, I believed that I needed the right circumstances to start something meaningful. I kept telling myself that I would begin when I had more confidence, more money, more time, or when everything around me felt settled. Somehow, there was always a reason to wait.
One morning, I was sitting near my window, watching people leave for work. Some looked tired, some were in a hurry, and some were simply trying to get through another ordinary day. I suddenly realised that everyone was dealing with something I could not see. Yet, they were still moving forward.
That thought stayed with me throughout the day.I decided to start with something very small. Instead of spending hours thinking about what I should do with my life, I made a simple list of things I could actually control. I chose one task and completed it. The next day, I did another Nothing dramatic happened. There was no sudden success or change in my life. But slowly, I started feeling different.
I understood that progress does not always look impressive from the outside. Sometimes, it is simply getting out of bed when you feel discouraged, studying when you are not motivated, applying for another opportunity after rejection, or continuing to work when nobody is noticing.
A few weeks later, someone asked me, “What changed?”I smiled because the answer was surprisingly simple: I stopped waiting for my life to become perfect before I started living it.That experience taught me something I wish more people understood. We often underestimate small efforts because they do not give immediate results. But small, consistent actions have a way of changing our direction.
Life will probably never give us perfect conditions. There will always be uncertainty, financial problems, failures, responsibilities, or fear.
But perhaps courage is not about having no fear. It is about taking the next step despite it.So, if you are waiting for the perfect time to begin something important, start with what you have today. It may feel like a very small step, but sometimes a small step is all that is needed to change the path of your entire life.
