The last bus

The last bus

Today, after completing my college(I was late cause the professor kept me waiting for submission of the assignment), I ran towards the last bus waving desperately as it began to move away. My bag kept slipping off my shoulder and my breadth grew heavier with every step. For a moment I thought I had missed it and imagined myself standing alone at the bus stop at the unholy hour wondering how I would get home. Just then when I was about to give you the driver slowed down and opened the door. I climbed upwards breathless and thanked him while trying to catch my breadth.

As I settled into my seat relief slowly replacing panic. The driver probably lost barely a minute. But to me it meant so much more. I kept thinking about how easily he could have driven away. Sometimes we become accustomed to people doing their jobs that we forgot to appreciate the little kindness they showed us. That evening I felt grateful for a stranger who made sure that I got home.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness stay with us longer than we expect. The stranger probably thought they were just doing something normal, but for someone trying to get home safely, that little gesture can mean so much. We often underestimate how reassuring it feels when someone looks out for us without expecting anything in return. It’s a reminder that even on an ordinary day, a stranger can restore a little faith in people. I hope we all get to meet more people who make the world feel a little safer and kinder. 🤍

Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness mean the most when we need them. That driver may have lost only a minute, but he turned your panic into relief and reminded you that kindness still exists in the most ordinary moments. ❤️

This is such a relatable experience. Being stranded at night with no means to go home is our biggest fear. The driver must be a girl dad to have known this. His kind gesture needs to receive a standing ovation.
