The shopkeeper was pulling down the shutter when I arrived, carrying a list of things I had forgotten earlier. I expected him to refuse , andvhe looked tired enough to deserve that choice. Still, he lifted the shutter just enough for me to buy the one item I needed urgently.

I thanked him andvpromised myself I would plan better next time walking home 🏠 I thought about the extra effort hidden behind a brief favor . He had probably wanted to go home too I hope I remember that other people's time matters even when their kindness makes my own day.

Sometimes, kindness shows itself in the smallest gestures, like a shopkeeper lifting a shutter one last time for someone in need. ❤️ We often forget that behind every little favour, someone is making an effort, adjusting their plans, or giving up a few minutes of their own time. What I love most about this experience is the reminder that gratitude should go beyond simply saying thank you; it should also teach us to respect other people’s time and effort. A little kindness can make someone’s day, but being mindful of the person offering it makes that kindness even more meaningful. 🌸✨

This one really touched me. He was pulling down the shutter, tired enough to deserve to say no, but he lifted it just enough for you. That line about "extra effort hidden behind a brief favor" is so true. We rarely think what it costs someone to help us at closing time. Loved it.
