Anonimo
The letter arrived
There was nothing unusual about the envelope—plain white, slightly worn at the corners, with my name written across it in handwriting I hadn't seen in years.I stood at the doorway for a long moment before opening it.
Inside was a single sheet of paper.
7:17
“Meet me where the old clock stops at 7:17
.”No name. No explanation".
At the end of our street stood an abandoned railway station, forgotten after the new line was built. There was an old clock above its entrance that had been stuck at 7:17 for as long as I could remember.
I went there that evening.
The station looked smaller than I remembered. Dust covered the benches, weeds grew between the tracks, and the silence felt strangely alive.
7:17
At exactly 7:17, I heard the sound of footsteps.
I turned around
Nobody was there.
Then I noticed something lying on the bench -- a small wooden box .
Inside was a collection of things I had lost over the years: my childhood photograph,a tiny silver pendant, an old friendship bracelet, and a faded bus ticket from a journey I had almost forgotten.
At the bottom was another letter.
This one said ;
“You kept searching for the things you lost. You never noticed what you were losing while searching.”
I sat quietly.
For the first time, I understood.
I had spent years waiting for life to become something extraordinary.I had forgotten the ordinary mornings, unfinished conversations, family laughter, friendships, sunsets, and little moments that had quietly become memories.
7:17 ; I looked up at the frozen clock.
7:17.
The hands suddenly moved.
7:18
I smiled
Maybe the letter hadn't come from someone trying to bring my past back.
Maybe it had come to remind me not to miss my present. I walked home without the box.
I left everything there.
Except the lesson.
