The memories we don't realize we are making

Anonymous59 minutes agoWrite Freely402 words

Today while clearing, my phone, I found a blurry photograph from an ordinary college afternoon today. Nothing special was happening. We were simply sitting together, laughing about something. I cannot remember. Yet seeing those faces made me emotional. I realized ordinary days may become the memories I treasure most later.

I scrolled through my gallery and noticed something surprising. The pictures I value most are not perfect ones bthey are accidental photographs, messy selfies, half closed eyes, crowded benches, and moments when nobody was posing . They remind me that life was simply happening, even when nothing memorable seemed to happen.

I have read people online regretting that they did not take enough photographs during school or college. Some wished they had pictures with friends, parents and themselves during ordinary years. Their stories made me wonder about my future. What it I look back someday and wish I had preserved moments?.

At the same time, I do not want to become someone who experiences everything through a camera screen. I have also seen people say that the memories are sometimes the ones without photographs. That made sense to me. A picture should help me remember a moment, not replace living it.

So tonight, I decided to find a balance, I will take pictures when something matters to me, even if it seems ordinary . I will photograph friends, family, college corridors, evening walks, and silly moments. Not because I need to post them, but because future me might want to meet me.

Maybe that is what growing up really means, slowly realizing that the present is temporary. The people sitting beside me today may eventually all live in cities, follow careers and become busy with their own families. The places I complain about now may someday become places I want to revisit.

I cannot stop time, and I cannot preserve every conversation or laugh. But I can pay attention while they happen. I can look around instead of constantly waiting for the next achievements. I can appreciate an ordinary Tuesday. Because there is no guarantee that this exact Tuesday will ever return.

I saved the photograph instead of deleting it. It is not beautiful, but it feels honest. Years from now

I may not remember what we laughed about, but I hope picture reminds me that I was there. Maybe memories are not made from days they slowly grow from ordinary ones.

I feel the same. Looking back each photo tells me the story of what happened that time. Ordinary days turn into special memories with the pictures. That is one reason why I love going through the camera roll. The best memories are from the imperfect pictures.
