I know how this feels. Not everything can be justified under the disguise of 'tough love'. Being parents do not give them the right to make their child's existence as per their wishes. At each phase of life, the child should be provided with certain degree of freedom, so that they can learn from their experiences. The moment when a child sees their parent as their enemy, the parents have failed at parenting.
