Things we keep postponing

Hello guys! How are you? I am good, and I hope you all are doing great today.

Have you ever noticed how we keep postponing the smallest things in life? We say, “I’ll clean my cupboard tomorrow,” “I’ll call that friend next week,” “I’ll start reading that book on Monday,” or my personal favourite, “I’ll fix my sleep schedule from tomorrow.”

And somehow, tomorrow becomes next Monday, next Monday becomes next month, and suddenly we are celebrating another New Year with the exact same unfinished plans!

Sometimes, we postpone things because we are busy. Sometimes, we are tired. And sometimes, we simply don’t feel like doing anything that requires getting out of our comfortable position. Our intentions are excellent, but our execution seems to have resigned without notice.

We postpone replying to messages until the unread notifications start looking like a government examination syllabus. We save interesting recipes but never cook them. We

buy beautiful notebooks with the intention of writing something meaningful, only to use the first two pages and then protect the remaining pages like historical documents.

But there is something interesting about all this. While we keep waiting for the perfect time to do things, life continues moving. We don’t always need a perfect Monday, a fresh month, or a dramatic new beginning. Sometimes, we just need to take one small step today.Maybe it’s finally calling someone we miss, arranging that messy cupboard, taking a short walk, or simply giving ourselves permission to rest without feeling guilty.

Life doesn’t always require grand resolutions. Sometimes, progress looks like completing one tiny task that we have been avoiding for weeks.

So here’s a little reminder: stop waiting for tomorrow to become the perfect version of today. Start wherever you are, with whatever you have.

And if you still haven’t cleaned your cupboard, don’t worry. At least the clothes have found a permanent home there!

And honestly, we should stop treating every unfinished task like a personal failure. We are humans, not machines running on unlimited battery. Some days we accomplish ten things, while on others, getting out of bed and making breakfast feels like a major achievement. Both days count.

Perhaps the secret is learning to balance ambition with patience, because even the slowest progress is still progress. And remember, your life isn't a

competition against your own to-do list!

Small steps deserve big appreciation too.

Even imperfect beginnings count.
