Unlikely Swirling Thoughts of Love
Consider love's opposite. I've been told from childhood that it's hate. But is it? In both instances the object of the affection or torment is known.
Evaluating who the person is not just their physical appearance. As in a human relationship but also their personality goes into the decision to love or hate them, in my experience.
And the true nature of that love is revealed in the depth sacrifice I see in my and that person's decision to love.
So, what is the opposite of love if rooted in sacrifice? It would be the opposite of caring which is apathy.
Because apathy is not caring. It's numb.
And what is the opposite of sacrifice? The opposite of giving up is using up. The opposite of give is take. But the opposite of giving up something or someone at a great personal price, to love them to give them the best even if they can't see it, is use and abuse.
To decide to love like this at a great personal cost is to really live. I know this. It's the adventure I believe were all designed for taking.
