We Were Meant to Meet Eventually

Funny how someone can be a part of your story long before they actually become a part of your life.
We were from the same school, but somehow, we had never seen each other. I was his senior, but after 10th, I changed schools while he stayed there. We had no conversations, no friendship, nothing.
Then, when he was in 11th and I was in 12th, he found me through one of his friend's following and sent me a request on Instagram.
He tried talking to me, but honestly, I barely cared. I was busy being completely obsessed with my society crush, so his messages usually got very late replies.
Then one day, he asked me something I never expected:
Would I want to give him 80–90 years of my life?
I said no.
But strangely, after that, I started noticing him.
After my 12th, I joined college—and the funny part was that my college was in the same school where he was still studying. One day, I messaged him, almost casually, saying, “Ab toh main teri school mein aa gayi hoon, ab toh tu mujhse milne aa sakta hai.”
He didn't come that day.
And then, one ordinary day, he suddenly showed up outside my college.
I had completely forgotten that I had once asked him to come.
My brother came inside to pick me up and casually told me, “Woh bahar khada hai."
And suddenly, there he was.
The person I had only known through Instagram was standing right outside my college.
I went outside and met him for the first time.
We talked for a little while. Nothing dramatic. Nothing like the movies.
Just two people who had somehow been connected for months finally standing in front of each other for the very first time.
Then I left for home—and he came along to drop me.
Looking back, I think that's what makes our first meeting special.
We didn't meet when we were supposed to.
We didn't start with some perfect plan.
I had even said no to him once.
But somehow, after all those almost-meetings, late replies, wrong crushes and unexpected moments...
**we still found our way to the same place.
To each other.**
