When I realized I had become better at listening

Today, someone talked to me about a problem, and I noticed I did not immediately interrupt with advice. I simply listened. Earlier in my life. I thought helping meant finding solutions quickly. Today I understood that sometimes people first need space to explain themselves without being fixed.

People online frequently discuss the difference between listening and immediately giving advice. Their experience made me reflect on my habits. Not every conversation is a problem - solving session. Sometimes attention itself is helpful. Today I felt good knowing I had allowed someone to finish their thoughts before making the conversation about solutions.
