where are we heading?
Stories of violence, both self-inflicted and interpersonal, have become so normal nowadays. And in collective terms, societies are yet to understand the why and how of these behavioural patterns. I personally feel so helpless and weird having to carry on with our lives while we morbidly consume such news reports like regular chai-time content. At the micro level, I think we are increasingly becoming desensitised, wherein our ability to deal with or emphatically remember such occurrences stays only as long as social media algorithms chooses to remind us of it.
Speed and productivity is so celebrated among us that we cannot afford to stop for a day to grieve these losses. I sometimes feel like we just keep going on and move past these incidents until one day, when we become a part of such a story - through a family member, a friend, a colleague, or even oneself.
