Why does everything feel slightly different at night?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but somehow a completely ordinary day can feel boring, and then the clock crosses 11 PM and suddenly I want to do everything. Clean my room. Rearrange my cupboard. Start a new series. Make a playlist. Learn something random. Plan my entire future. And obviously, think about things I didn’t even remember existed five minutes ago.

There’s something about nighttime that makes normal things feel interesting.

During the day, everyone is busy. There are messages, calls, work, studies, people asking questions, notifications going off every few minutes. Your mind is constantly moving from one thing to another

But at night, everything becomes quieter. Even your phone feels different when the whole house is asleep and you’re just sitting there scrolling.

And somehow, this is also the time when the most random thoughts appear.

You remember that embarrassing thing you said three years ago.

You suddenly want to search for a song you haven’t heard since childhood.

You start looking at old photos.

You decide tomorrow will be the day you finally become organised.

You make a completely unnecessary list of things you want to buy.

Then you watch one “just five minute” video and somehow it’s 2 AM.

The funniest part is how motivated we become at night. At 1 AM, I genuinely believe I can wake up early, exercise, study for hours, fix my sleep schedule, drink enough water, organise everything and become a completely new person

Then morning comes and suddenly even getting out of bed feels like a major life decision. 😭

But maybe that’s why I like nighttime. There’s less pressure to be doing something useful. You can just exist for a while. Listen to music, stare out of the window, talk to someone, watch the rain, or do absolutely nothing.

Maybe we don’t actually become different at night. Maybe we just finally get enough silence to notice what was already in our minds

And honestly, some of my favourite random conversations, funniest thoughts and weirdest ideas have happened after midnight

So Ive to ask you - what kind of person are you after 11 PM? The “I should sleep” person, the “one more episode” person, or the “let me completely rethink my life” person?
