Why Does “I’m Almost Ready” Mean 40 More Minutes? 😭

Some people say “I’m almost ready” when they’re literally still deciding what to wear.

The outfit isn’t picked, the hair isn’t done, and somehow they’re sitting on the bedscrolling like there’s no time limit.

Then when someone asks, “How long?” they get offended.

“Bas 5 minutes!”

Those five minutes include changing

outfits twice, searching for one missing earring, checking the mirror from every possible angle, and suddenly deciding the whole look isn’t working.

Meanwhile, the person waiting is fully

ready, shoes on, standing near the door, questioning every life decision that led to this moment.

And the best part? The one who took the longest will still say, “Why are you rushing me?”

And somehow, the person who took the longest is always the first one to complain that everyone else is taking too long. There’s also a special kind of panic when you’re finally ready, but now you can’t find your phone, your bag, or the one thing you were holding literally two seconds ago..

Then you reach the place and realize you forgot something important—but somehow remembered to take 17 mirror selfies before leaving.

Getting ready is honestly a whole event before the actual event even begins.

And honestly, getting ready with other people is even worse. Everyone keeps asking, “Are you ready?” while they’re still doing their own things. One person is looking for shoes, another is fixing their hair, and someone suddenly decides they need to change their entire outfit.

Then there’s always that one person

who says they’re ready but is still sitting comfortably on the bed. Like, ready for what exactly? A motivational speech?

And if you try to leave without them,

suddenly you’re the rude one. “You couldn’t wait for two minutes?”

Those two minutes somehow turn into another 20.

The funniest thing is, after all that effort, we sometimes reach the place and immediately start thinking about going home. The outfit feels uncomfortable, the shoes hurt, and suddenly the bed at home sounds like the best place on earth.

Getting ready is a full-time job with no salary, no appreciation, and absolutely no guarantee that you’ll even enjoy the plan.

But somehow, the next time someone says, “We’re going out,” we’ll do it all over again And let’s not forget the last-minute mirror check before leaving. You’re already at the door, but suddenly something looks different. The hair needs fixing, the outfit needs adjusting, and somehow you’re back in the room again.

Meanwhile, everyone outside is asking, “Are you coming or not?”

Then you finally step out, feeling confident, only to hear someone say, “You took so long just to wear this?” 😭

Honestly, getting ready should come with a countdown timer and a team of people managing the chaos. 😂

This is painfully relatable! 😂 The funniest part is how “five minutes” has its own time zone, completely unrelated to actual time. And after all that effort, we sometimes don’t even enjoy going out. Getting ready is basically the first event of the day, and leaving the house is the final achievement! 😭😂
