Chapter 1 — The Comparison

Sometimes I wonder when I started feeling like I was running out of time.
I open my phone and see people my age getting internships, learning new skills, earning money, travelling, or simply knowing exactly what they want from life.
And then I look at myself and think, “What am I doing?”
I have plans, but I also have doubts. I want to try new things, but I’m scared of failing. Sometimes I start something with so much excitement, only to lose confidence when I see someone doing it better than me.
For a while, I thought this meant I was behind.
But maybe I was looking at my life through the wrong timeline.
Not everyone starts at the same place. Not everyone gets the same opportunities. And not everyone figures themselves out at the same age.
Maybe I don't need to have everything figured out right now.
Maybe I just need to keep moving—even if it’s slowly.
And maybe, someday, I'll realize that I was never behind.
I was just becoming myself at my own pace.
And maybe the first step is to stop comparing my journey with everyone else’s, trust myself a little more, and simply keep going, one day at a time. 🌱
When you see others succeeding, do you

Thank you for sharing this—it really resonated with me on a personal level. It is incredibly tough not to compare yourself when it feels like everyone your age is moving ahead at a different pace. But this was a gentle reminder that my worth isn’t defined by anyone. We are all running our own race, and being on a different path doesn't mean we are falling behind. Truly appreciated this perspective. ✨
heard somewhere that comparison is the thief of joy.
you are not late. your timing is different from rest but it is still truly yours 🙂
