After I went back home, my parents slowly started trying to accept me again.
But there was still one thing they wanted from me.
They wanted me to forget him.
They wanted me to leave the relationship behind and move on.
But I couldn't.
Then my brother came to Hyderabad.
He called him and asked him to come home.
“Come. Let's sit and talk.”
He came to my home, and they talked about everything that had happened.
After listening to everything, my brother finally said,
“Wait for two years. In that time, both of you can get settled. I'm giving you a guarantee that I'll help you get married.”
Those words gave him some hope.
But he still had one question.

He understood.
But I could still see the doubt in him.
He trusted my brother's word.
But he didn't trust my parents.
He was afraid that during those two years, my parents might change my mind or convince me to leave him.
And honestly, I understood why he was scared.
After everything we had already been through, even a promise felt frighteningly uncertain.
He eventually left.
And after he left, I kept thinking about everything that had just happened.
My brother had given him a guarantee.
But there were still two long years between us and the future we wanted.
I didn't know then that those two years would begin with even more chaos.
