Chapter 4: The Voice Inside

I didn’t realize how mean I was to myself.
Every mistake became "I’m so stupid."
Every delay became "You’ll never do it."
Every bad day became "See, you’re not good enough."
No one else was saying these things.
I was.
Chapter four taught me: The voice in your head becomes your reality.
If I keep calling myself lazy, I’ll act lazy.
If I keep saying "I can’t", my brain believes it.
So I started talking to myself like I would talk to a friend.
Bad day? "It’s okay, we’ll try again tomorrow."
Made a mistake? "That’s how we learn."
Scared? "We’re doing it anyway, one small step."
Self talk is not about fake positivity.
It’s about truth with kindness.
Instead of "I have to be perfect", I said "I just have to show up."
Instead of "What if I fail", I asked "What if I grow?"
Instead of "Everyone is ahead", I reminded myself "I’m only competing with yesterday’s me."
The words we repeat become the life we live.
So I chose better words.
Softer words.
Words that build me instead of breaking me.
Because if I’m going to become me, slowly...
I need to be on my own team first.
When the voice inside your head is mean, you
Your vote is final.
