It All Started With One Message

At 11:47 PM, her phone lit up.

Hey, are you still awake??

She stared at the message for a few seconds.

It was strange how five simple words could make an ordinary night feels completely different.

She had spend the whole day pretending that everything was fine. Smiling when she didn't feel like smiling, replying "I'm okay" when she wasn't, putting everyone else's feelings before her own.

But that night, something felt different.

She typed a reply.

" Yeah, what's up? "

The typing bubble appeared.
Then disappeared.

And finally, a message arrived.

" I think you need to hear something.....before you lose yourself completely. "

She frowned.
Lose herself?

She looked around her quiet room. Everything was normal—books on the table, the dim light , the sound of the fan.

But somehow, those words felt like they were meant for her.

She replied:

" What do you mean?? "

This time, the answer came quickly.

" You keep choosing everyone else. When are you going to choose yourself?? "

She stopped breathing for a moment.

Because nobody had ever asked her that.

Maybe that was the beginning of everything.

Not a love story.

But the beginning of a girl finally learning that choosing herself wasn't selfish.....it was necessary.
