I nevver liked Marketing as a subject. All those theories on Pages 114 to 142 - Mass Marketing, Niche Marketing, Geographical, Demographical Segmentation - it felt like learning a dictionary.Our teacher told us to learn the whole STP model by heart. I tried, but I couldn't. The bookish language was too heavy and I would forget everything in 10 minutes.
It was one week before my final exams in Baddi. I was in the library, surrounded by books, but my mind was blank. I was almost crying because I had not prepared anything. My roommate saw me and said, "You are studying in the old way. Just ask Meta AI."I came back to my room and opened Meta AI. I took a random photo of Page 118 - Geographical Segmentation. My handwriting was on the side, the page was folded. I thought it will say "photo not clear."
But it instantly replied. It converted that heavy paragraph into 4 simple points: Continent wise, State wise, City wise, Rural/Urban. It also gave me a trick to remember - "C S D R" - Country, State, District, Region.I was shocked. So I uploaded Page 119 - Demographical Segmentation. Again, it made it so easy - Age, Income, Gender, Education. It said, "Think of your own family - different age, different needs."For the first time, marketing felt real. It was not just theory, it was about real people around me.
For the next 3 days, I just clicked photos and asked for easy explanations. I even asked, "Give me difference between Segmentation and Targeting in easy Hindi mix" and it did.
In my exam, I didn't write book language. I wrote in my own easy words with real examples like Patanjali targeting health-conscious families and iPhone targeting premium users. My teacher underlined my examples with green pen.I passed with good marks, but more importantly, I finally understood marketing. Now I use the same trick for other subjects too.
