Soundtrack

A couple of days ago I was speaking with a friend. I told her "it is just like Soundtrack film".
She asked me, "which film?"
I said, "Soundtrack".
She asked me, "is there a film like that?"
This whole conversation made me believe that the film is not just underrated but probably even unknown to the crowd.

For starters, the film includes talented actors, Rajiv Khandelwal and Soha Ali Khan. Now let me tell you the plot briefly: Raunak is a musician who gets success at the very early stage of his career. He is constantly surrounded by loud musical instruments. Additionally the fame ruins him and he starts taking illicit substance. As a result, his hearing starts declining to a point where he becomes completely deaf. Due to his use of illicit substances, loss of hearing, and erratic behavior he loses his friends, bandmates, and work. He leaves his luxurious life. When he had given up on life he meets a woman who teaches mute and deaf kids to communicate. With her help Raunak starts to lip read and understand the spoken words by feeling the vibration. Raunak starts to sing and record again. His comeback album becomes a huge success. His live performance as a deaf singer gets praised after an initial hiccup. He starts getting more work and projects. Raunak sees that he is entering the same vicious circle which destroyed him in the first place. Instead of staying back and enjoying the success, Raunak leaves to an undisclosed location where he teaches music to deaf children in the same way he learnt - by understanding the vibrations.

When I watched 'Soundtrack' for the first time I was blown away by the idea presented in it. At the same time it was relatable. Few of my musician and singer friends had to leave their careers because of impaired hearing. Being exposed to loud music leaves the musicans with hearing defects, tinnitus (ringing ears) being the common outcome.

After watching this film, I found out that it was based on a true story. The way the story is narrated is unbelievable. Also I wholeheartedly believe that any person who had enjoyes success, downfall, health issue, resurgence, and success is something not only talked about but rather celebrated. Unfortunately such a brilliant and heart touching film did not receive the approval from audience. This is the film which makes the film lovers think "we do not deserve good films".

I was captivated by this film and hence I always advocate for it. The film makers, cast, and crew have put in a lot of efforts to make such a fantastic film. The powerhouse performance by Rajiv Khandelwal definitely deserved recognition and rewards (according to me he deserved national award for his performance). The music of this film is melodious and does complete justice to the theme of the film. Each aspect of the film is praiseworthy. Yet unfortunately this film is still widely not known.

Films like this are the real gems of Indian cinema which show what potential our talent has. As a closing note, I would suggest the readers to watch 'Soundtrack' and share it with more people if you like (which you will like).
