I didn’t realize it was going to be the last time. That is the strange thing about endings. They rarely announce themselves.
There was no dramatic goodbye, no final conversation, no moment where the world suddenly became quieter. It was just an ordinary evening. The same familiar road. The same fading sunlight. The same people laughing about things that probably wouldn’t matter a year later.
I remember looking around and thinking, I wish I could keep this moment forever.I didn’t know that I was already saying goodbye to it.
We spend so much of our lives waiting for the next thing. The next class. The next birthday. The next holiday. The next chapter. We become so excited about where we’re going that we forget to notice where we are. Then one day, you return to a place you once knew by heart, and something feels different.

Maybe the walls are the same, but you aren’t.The jokes don’t make you laugh the way they used to. The conversations feel different. The people you once thought you’d know forever have grown into versions of themselves you don’t completely recognize.
And somehow, neither have you.For a while, I thought growing apart meant something had gone wrong.
Now I think some places are only meant to hold certain versions of us.A childhood room can hold your childhood.A particular street can hold your teenage years.
A friendship can hold the person you were when you needed it most. But eventually, you have to leave some of those places—not because they weren’t beautiful, but because you’ve grown beyond them.
Maybe that’s what growing up really means. Not forgetting where you came from.Just learning to carry the memories with you without needing to live inside them
And perhaps that’s okay. Some chapters are beautiful precisely because they end.

When you realize a chapter of your life is closing, do you

I write about the little things we often ignore—the quiet thoughts, ordinary moments, and emotions that stay with us long after the day ends.
