There was a time when night felt brighter.
Not because the streets had more lights, or the sky had more stars, but because we were children and everything around us felt magical.
Summer nights meant sitting outside with family, feeling the cool breeze after a long, hot day. The sound of distant conversations, the occasional barking of a dog, the smell of dinner coming from kitchen, and the endless stories adults used to tell us.
We didn't have expensive phones to keep us awake. We had friends waiting outside.

We played until someone from home shouted our name.

"Come inside! It's getting late!"

And somehow, those words were the saddest sound of the night.

We would sit under the streetlights, sharing jokes that weren't even funny, talking about things that didn't really matter, and laughing until our stomachs hurt.

Sometimes, we'd simple lie down and look at the stars.

We didn't know the names of the constellations. We didn't understand how big the universe was.

We just knew the sky was beautiful.

A powercut could turn an ordinary night into an adventure. We'd sit together in the darkness, using candles or emergency lights, telling stories and making shadows on the walls.

There were no notifications.

No deadlines.

No worries about tomorrow.

Just childhood.

Just laughter.

Just people who were always there.

Back then, we thought those nights would last forever.

We never knew we were living moments we'd spend the rest of our lives trying to remember.

Growing up didn't make the nights darker.

The same streets are still there. The same moon is still rises. The stars are still above us.

But something changed.

We did.

Those weren't just nights of our childhood.

They were the brightest nights of our lives.

When you think back to childhood, do you remember the nights feeling

This story took me back to my childhood. The powercut made the whole community come together, unwind, and relax. It is fun to play in the dark.
