The next evening, her phone lit up.

"I think you're ready now."

She took a deep breath.

"Tell me who are you."

A few seconds later, the reply appeared.

"It's me, the girl you used to be."

She froze.

Then another message came.

"I'm not a person from your past. I'm the part of you that you left behind.

She looked at the old diary.

The dreams.
The little promises.
The things she once wanted but slowly stopped believing it.

Suddenly, everything made sense.

The messages were never about someone coming back.

They were about her coming back to herself.

She smiled, wiped her eyes, and opened a fresh page in her diary.

This time, she didn't write about what she had lost.

She wrote about what she wanted to become.

She closed the diary and looked at her reflection.

For the first time, she didn't see a girl trying to be enough for everyone.

She saw herself.

And she finally understood.

Choosing yourself doesn't mean leaving everyone behind.
It means not leaving yourself behind anymore.

She turned off the phone.

No more messages were needed.

Because she finally knew what they had been trying to tell her all along.

Sometimes, the person you are waiting to find....is you.

Sometimes the greatest reunion isn’t with another person, but with the version of yourself you lost while trying to become everything everyone else needed. 🌸
