Indiddernce sounds colder than it actually is . When you are still hurting, it can seem almost impossible. You imagine moving on as waking up one day and feeling absolutely nothing. Their name appears, and your heart does not react. You are them somewhere and walk past as though they were a stranger. But that is not really how it happens.
Indifference does not arrive dramatically. You may not even notice when it begins . One day you check your phone without woundering whether they have texted. You spend an entire afternoon doing something you enjoy and realize later that they never entered your mind. You hear a song that once had the power to ruin your mood, and this time, you simply listen to it.
Nothing hurts. Nothing explodes . Nothing happens.
And somehow that is when you realize something has changed.
For a long time, they were part of your emotional routine. A notification from them could change your mood.Their silence could ruin your day. Seeing them happy without you could make you question yourself. Without realizing it. You had given another person and extraordinary amount of power over your emotions.
Indifference is when that power slowly returns to youit sows not mean you suddenly hate them. It does not mean that everything you felt was fake. or that you have erased them from your memory . They may still be part of your story ,and you may even remember them fondly. But their existence no longer changes the direction of your day
Their name becomes just a name again. Their favourite song becomes a song . The places connected to them become ordinary places where you can create new memories . Eventually, you stop woundering what they are doing because your own life becomes interesting enough to occupy your attention.Pwrhaps that is what moving on really means. Not forgetting, Not pretending you never cared. Not turning love into hated just to make leaving easier. It is reaching a point as where you no longer need anything from them - no explanation no apology, no final message, and no proof that they ever cared.
Maybe one day, you will see their name unexpectedly, For aoment you might remember everything the waiting the hope, the confusion and the rights you spent thinking about someone who occupied so much space in your mind.
And then you will continue with whatever you were doing . You will not check their profile or imagine what could have happened. You will simply think Oh. I remember you
And perhaps you will smile- not because they came back , but because you finally understand that you no longer need them to.
Seeing someone from your past who once held great power over your emotions, you
Your vote is final.
