Let's be honest.
Most of us have a phone full of things we'll probably never look at again.
Hundreds of screenshots.
Random photos.
Memes we thought were hilarious at 2 a.m.
Recipes we'll never make.
Outfits we'll probably never buy.
Places we said we'd visit someday.
Quotes that felt extremely important for five minutes.
And somehow, we keep all of it.
Our phone storage is basically a museum of things we once thought we'd need. 😭
The funniest part is that we often save something with a very specific plan.
β€œI'll come back to this later.”
Later never comes.
Three months pass.
Six months pass.
A year passes.
And that screenshot is still sitting there, untouched, somewhere between 4,000 other screenshots.
Sometimes I'll scroll through my gallery and find a photo I don't even remember taking.
I'll look at it for a few seconds and think,
β€œWhy did I save this?”
I have no answer.
But deleting it somehow feels wrong.
And I think that's the strange thing about digital memories.
Because unlike physical things, they take up almost no physical space.
You don't have to clean around them.
You don't have to put them in a box.
They can just sit quietly in your phone forever.
So we keep collecting.
A picture of a sunset.
A funny conversation.
A random street.
A screenshot of someone's comment.
A photo of food.
A blurry picture that somehow still feels worth keeping.
And sometimes, years later, you accidentally find one of those old photos.
Suddenly, you remember exactly where you were.
What you were doing.
Who you were with.
What your life felt like at that time.
And that's probably why we don't delete everything.
Because we aren't always saving the picture.
We're saving the possibility of remembering.
Maybe we don't know whether we'll ever look at it again.
Maybe we just don't want to make the decision that it's no longer important.
There's also something comforting
about knowing that these tiny pieces of our lives are still somewhere.
Even if we never open them.
Even if they're buried under thousands of newer photos.
They're still there.
A digital version of a drawer full of old things.
Except instead of opening a drawer, we scroll through our gallery at midnight and wonder how we managed to take 37 pictures of the same sunset. 😭
And honestly, maybe that's not such a bad thing.
Not everything we keep needs to have a purpose.
Some things are worth keeping simply because they remind us of a moment when we felt something.
So maybe our phones aren't just full of useless files.
Maybe they're full of tiny pieces of our lives that we weren't ready to throw away.
Now I'm curious
What's the most random thing sitting in your gallery right now that you absolutely refuse to delete, even though you have no idea why you saved it? πŸ“±πŸ˜

When you find a random old photo in your gallery, do you
