You are not my friend

Surbhi looked at Kavita. By now she had realised that the person in front of her was not someone she knew. But she did not know who was there. She did not know what was happening around her. She did not know what was the reason for all the events that have been happening since last night.

For Surbhi last 12 hours felt like a fever dream. The mysterious text messages, the unsettling visit from a stranger, and now the bizarre behaviour from someone who she thought was her friend.
"You are not my friend. I know that very well. Whoever you are I am not scared of you. Whatever you are doing I want it to stop immediately. If this does not stop, I am heading to the police station and I am going to report this as a crime. I am going to file a missing person report for my friend Kavita. This is the last warning," Adrenaline had taken over. Surbhi was shocked by her own behavior. Few moments ago she was scared and now she was acting so brave. She was no longer the timid girl that she was a few minutes ago.

" Too late," Kavita said lying on the ground and staring at the ceiling.
Surabhi got up and said to her, "get out of my home right now. Don't pretend to act as if you are Kavita. You are not her. Leave right now or I will call the security to get you removed from here. Last chance leave right now," Surbhi still had her coffee mug in her hands. She knew if needed that could be used as a weapon.

Kavita got up and started walking towards the door. This time Surbhi noticed that her walk was robotic. Surbhi wondered if the one who was screaming at the door was this robot who pretended to be Kavita. That was a possibility.

While Kavita was moving towards the door should be grabbed a stick, she was still holding the coffee mug and stick. Though these were the unlikely choices for the weapons, that was what she had. She knew that her fears were coming true. Whatever had been happening from last night was not a nightmare but it was now a reality. As soon as Kavita walked out of the door, she should be shut the door and locked it.

Somehow Surbhi thought of turning on the television to see if they are showing anything in the news. As soon as she switched on the TV she saw a news flashing on her TV screen, "A mysterious force has taken over the city of Mumbai".

The news reporter appeared scared but continued to speak, " it has been reported by a lot of citizens of Mumbai have been receiving strange messages on their phone. Their phones are malfunctioning showing only word on the screen 'replace'. Strange events have been occurring throughout the city. Suddenly people are speaking only in one word 'replace'. We are getting in touch with scientist from all over the world. We want to understand what is this phenomenon? I am now speaking with. Replace. Replace. Replace. Replace," Surbhi watched this live on tv. It was right before her own eyes when a person speaking normally suddenly began speaking the only keyword she had been hearing since yesterday.

It was still not clear what is happening to the world. At least she was not the only one experiencing this. The whole city was with her.
