Boardwalk zen, SoCo tacos & actually winning at work 🌮✨

Honestly if you told me yesterday that i’d navigate I-35 traffic without a meltdown, absolutely crush the Q4 presentation that’s been keeping me up all week, and still make it to the lake for golden hour... i would’ve laughed in your face. but today was just one of those rare austin days where the chaos aligned perfectly w/ my energy. the city felt alive, the coffee hit right, and i actually felt like i was winning the game instead of just playing catch-up.

started the day ridiculously early but for once didn’t hate it. took buster down to Lady Bird Lake before the heat set in. the boardwalk was packed w/ the usual mix of tech bros in patagonia vests and serious runners, but the vibe was so good. saw the rowing teams out on the water cutting through the mist—always makes me feel motivated just watching them sync up. buster tried to befriend a paddleboarder near the pedestrian bridge which was equal parts embarrassing and cute. seeing the skyline reflect off the water while the city was still waking up gave me this weird moment of clarity like "okay, i got this."

got into the office and the caffeine kicked in exactly when needed. the big strategy sync?? total breeze. i was so worried the dev lead would tear apart my timeline for the holiday campaign, but he was actually super supportive. said the user flow in my deck was "slick." massive relief. spent the rest of the morning riding that high, just churning through tasks that usually drag me down.

needed a brain break around 1 so headed over to South Congress to grab tacos w/ jenna. the humidity was actually manageable today so we walked a bit. passed by the Continental Club and heard a band sound-checking even at that hour—reminded me why i love living here. live music is literally seeping out of the walls. crowds were crazy near the "i love you so much" wall (tourist central lol) but it was fun people-watching. jenna and i laughed about our Q3 failures and planned a happy hour for next week.

drive home was slow obv (it’s austin, traffic is a personality trait here) but i didn't mind. rolled the windows down and blasted old school hip hop. caught the sunset hitting the State Capitol dome as i crossed downtown—that pink granite looks insane when the light hits it sideways. moment of appreciation for this town.

ending the day w/ a glass of red and zero unread slack messages. feels like a miracle. gonna ride this wave as long as i can.
