Maybe I’m Not Behind

Maybe I’m Not Behind

Sometimes we compare our lives with people around us and feel like we are falling behind. But everyone has a different journey, different opportunities, and a different timeline. This is a reminder that not having everything figured out yet doesn’t mean you are failing. Progress can be slow, imperfect, and still meaningful. Maybe we don’t need to catch up with anyone—we just need to keep moving at our own pace.

Chapter 1 — The Comparison

Chapter 1 — The Comparison

Sometimes I wonder when I started feeling like I was running out of time.
I open my phone and see people my age getting internships, learning new skills, earning money, travelling, or simply knowing exactly what they want from life.

And then I look at myself and think, “What am I doing?”

I have plans, but I also have doubts. I want to try new things, but I’m scared of failing. Sometimes I start something with so much excitement, only to lose confidence when I see someone doing it better than me.
For a while, I thought this meant I was behind.
But maybe I was looking at my life through the wrong timeline.
Not everyone starts at the same place. Not everyone gets the same opportunities. And not everyone figures themselves out at the same age.
Maybe I don't need to have everything figured out right now.
Maybe I just need to keep moving—even if it’s slowly.
And maybe, someday, I'll realize that I was never behind.
I was just becoming myself at my own pace.
And maybe the first step is to stop comparing my journey with everyone else’s, trust myself a little more, and simply keep going, one day at a time. 🌱
