Art of being a beginner

Anonymous1 hour agoWrite Freely498 words

Whenever we start something , we always look upto people that are already good at what they do. We see their confidence, their skills and the results they have achieved. What we don't see is the struggle, mistakes, and effort it took for them to reach a point where they are now being looked at as an example

It is a universal truth that everyone has to start from zero . Everyone has to begin with little to no experience. Which can feel uncomfortable when we are constantly comparing ourselves to people who are already past that stage. We forget that they were once beginners too. We see their progress but rarely think about their starting point .

Comparison and fear of not being good enough can slowly take over our willingness to learn. Instead of trying , we start worrying about how we will look of we fail . We procrastinate because we want out first attempt to look like someones hundredth attempt. Sometimes we give up before we have even given ourselves enough time to improve.

I have experienced this feeling Myself. There are moments when i want to start something new , whether a new hobby or a new skill . Instead of being excited about learning, i find myself thinking about how good I need to be at it . I imagine the finished version before i have even made the frst attempt. That pressure can something that was supposed to be exciting feel intimidating. Sometimes, we are not afraid of the process itself, we are afraid of failure and what ifs - but ifs taht are in our mind.

Here's what we need to remember, every skill starts with terrible attempts. The first piece of wiritng might not be Great. The first video might feel awkward. The first drawing might look nothing like we imagined. The first presentation might make us nervous. None of that means we are incapable.

Those terrible attempts are not evidence that you cannot do something. They are Evidence that you are trying. Every mistake teaches us something. And every attempt gives us a chance to become a little better.

Being a beginner requires accepting that we will not be perfect immediately. It requires patience with ourselves and the willingness to keep goin even when progress feels invisible. Improvement rarely happens overnight. It happens quietly , thru repeated attempts , mistakes , corrections and lessons.

The goal is not to impress people with how quickly you succeed the goal is to give yourself enough room to learn , grow , make mistakes and discover what you are capable of becoming on your own journey.

So the next time you find yourself comparing your begining to someones progress, pause for a moment. You don't need to ask good as someone who started years before than you did . You just need to be willing to start. Because every expert was once a beginner who decided not to give up :)

When you want to try something new, do you

This is such a beautiful that we’re comparing our first chapter to someone else’s hundredth . We need to start learn and keep going
