It’s truly exhausting to love someone so deeply while watching them build walls against their own happiness. You can pour your entire heart out, but if someone refuses to listen or let themselves feel, you end up breaking your own pieces trying to fix theirs. Your heart is a gift, not a downfall.

Sometimes, the hardest part of loving someone is realizing that love alone cannot make two people fight equally for the same relationship. You can communicate, forgive, explain your pain, and keep giving chances, but you cannot do the emotional work for both of you. Having a big heart is not your downfall, but forgetting that your heart deserves care too can hurt you deeply. You can love someone through their struggles without making their healing your responsibility. A relationship should not leave one person constantly begging to be heard while the other remains comfortable being unheard.
