This is such a sweet and simple moment but you made it feel so warm. The lift stopping on several floors and that small joke about the lift being more patient than either of us, it is so true how these tiny delays actually give us a chance to talk. I loved that line about finding yourself smiling on the stairs later and how the delay didn't change your schedule much but made the building feel less anonymous. Such a beautiful observation about everyday life.
