One of the biggest trends of 2000 was the puff hairstyle. Nothing could have come closer to it when it comes to the biggest thing of 2000s.
The hairstyle was very simple. Create the half top pony tail and push it a bit forward towards the forehead to get a little volume at the top. This hairstyle becam huge in 2000s. Every person is respective of their ages did this hairstyle. One reason was that it was easy to make and did not require any additional accessories or tools to make it. It was a quick hairstyle but would still look chic and stylish. If anybody wanted to add accessories then this hairstyle was forgiving. It was easy to modify or accessorize. Whatever you do it would still look good. If it was made to look messy, it would look even better. Practically it was impossible to mess up this hairstyle.
As someone with fine hair and lacking volume this hairstyle was a blessing for me. It would give my hair the volume it did not even have. Another aspect that I like about this hairstyle was that it would go well with the Western outfits as well as Indian oufits. This hairstyle would go with every possible outfit. Whichever was the mood this hairstyle would it masterfully.
A couple of days ago I was watching a fashion Influencer's video about this hairstyle. She mentioned, " if I had gotten married in 2000s, then this would have been my hairstyle on the wedding day". I could easily relate because it was so true. Every bride in 2000s was looking for a hairstyle which would combine this trend and they wanted to add their own twist to this hairstyle. The hairstylists would also suggest this hairstyle or a different variant of it for the brides.
Somehow as the 2010s started this hairstyle saw a sharp decline. Other trends had been gaining more popularly in 2010s and slowly the trend of puffing of hair went away. Today this hairstyle is practically invisible. I have hardly scene any girls and women doing this hairstyle in today's time.
Maybe it is my millennial's wish or the versatility of this hairstyle I would really like to see the return of this hairstyle. According to me it was the kind of hairstyle that would look amazing on everyone. Irrespective of the length, hair type, or volume this hairstyle would look amazing. This was one of the reasons why it became so popular in 2000s.
While I do not see myself as a trend setter I still do this hairstyle every now and then. Whenever I find an opportunities I do this hairstyle and I ensure that I am seen wearing this hairstyle. Some people may say that I am living in the past. But for me it is embracing what I like. This is the hairstyle that had stayed with me in my college years and it continues to stay with me even right now.
Today while we see a lot of fashion influencers doing a complicated hairstyles I would like to see them doing this simple hairstyle and rocking it too. Even if they do not do it, I would continue to use this hairstyle.
Seeing a hairstyle you loved from years ago, would you
